The Experience
Dear guests, this experience of 1-day tour has been planned for all those travelers who wish to visit the locations of the by now-famous movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”.
Moreover, you will be driven to another historic village, Montepulciano, and will have the chance to taste one of the three most famous Tuscany red wines, the “Nobile di Montepulciano”.
This excursion from Rome is led by a professional English-speaking driver from our company, Rome-Limousines, with a/c brand-new Mercedes vehicle, cold bottled water, and free wi-fi on board.
You will be picked up at 7.30 am from your hotel, residence, or any other place of your convenience, and transferred to the magic Cortona by a lovely drive through the countryside of Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany regions.
Cortona
It is very easy to visit the city and get lost in its medieval alleys, among the charming small shops of local artisans and cafes.
Discover all the spots where the movie was shot by yourself, asking questions to locals by trying to speak Italian, it is something that they love and feel much more engaged with you to help you.
Montepulciano
It does not need an introduction, it is famous all over the world for its beautiful Renaissance layout, given by the imposing palaces and terracotta tiled squares, and for the red wine, the “Nobile di Montepulciano” that adds that touch of magic to all around.
Montepulciano rises on top of a hill, and driving the charming street, lined with vineyards, towards the town, you will already have a breathtaking view. It is easy to recognize the town hall with its beautiful clock tower with a terrace that welcomes visitors.
Your driver will suggest a place for lunch, which could be a charcuterie and cheese platter in one of the wine bars or traditional restaurant carefully selected by us over years of experience. You will also have the opportunity to taste wines of varying ages, a young Classical Red aged between six and eight months, Nobile that requires two years of aging, and Nobile Riserva aged three years.
Afterward, take a lovely stroll along the main street, so captivating that you will never forget and love it forever!

Itinerary
MORNING
- Pick-up at 7.30 am from your hotel (within the city center), and drive straight to Cortona through a scenic countryside of northern Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany, with a stop on the way for coffee!
- Stop at Villa Bramasole, the residence of the writer Frances Mayes, for pictures.
- Drive 5 minutes to downtown for a free self-stroll and visit the major spots
- By noon, drive 45 minutes to Montepulciano town through the scenic Val di Chiana countryside.
AFTERNOON
- Lunch break (local restaurant or sliced pizza)
- Colosseum guided tour and the Arch of Constantine
- Roman Forum from the Capitol Hill (from outside)
- Pantheon (inside)
Expected return at 4.30 pm
The total amount of money to send us for all the tickets is approx. € 130 per person.
We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and appropriate clothes for visiting churches, monuments, and museums.

We would like to inform our customers that, when the city of Rome is affected by marathons and/or strikes, which involve closure of streets and squares, some of the highlights will be replaced by other attractions chosen by your driver guide. We guarantee the visit of Colosseum, Vatican museums or Pantheon, otherwise there will be a partial refund to be agreed together, customers and the CEO of Limo Company.
